UW sophomore guard Sami Whitcomb was named the Pac-10 player of the week today.
She won the award mostly on her effort in Washington’s win over ninth-ranked California Sunday. Whitcomb scored 24 points, including 16 in the second half, to help the Huskies lock up sixth place in the Pac-10 standings. This is Whitcomb’s first player-of-the-week award, and the first for a Husky this season.
Here is the release from gohuskies.com. And in case you missed it, here’s our game story on Washington’s upset win Sunday.
