SPOKANE – Seth Dunlap converted a three-point play to give Wilbur-Creston the lead with 35 left and added the winning point on a free throw with 14 seconds left in a 61-60 victory over Cedar Park Christian in first-round action Wednesday at the state boys Class B basketball tournament at the Spokane Arena.
Marcus Mann led Wilbur-Creston (20-7) with 22 points. Dunlap finished with 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Steve Campbell went 8-for-10 from the field and led Cedar Park Christian (24-2) with 17 points. Matt Juel added 13 points.
Juel missed a pair of 3-point attempts in the final seconds. Campbell scored on a lay-in at the final horn.
Wilbur-Creston meets top-ranked Willapa Valley (23-1) in the second round Thursday. Darrington takes on Valley Christian (21-5) in a loser-out game Thursday.
