The WNBA announced its awards for the month of June and Minnesota Lynx forward Rebekkah Brunson and Connecticut’s Tina Charles have been named the Western Conference and Eastern Conference Players of the Month respectively
Brunson is averaging 12.1 points and 11.7 rebounds per game through the first month of the season and is the first Lynx player to ever win Player of the Month honors.
Charles is averaging 19.8 points and 10.9 rebounds per game in nine games this season.
San Antonio Silver Stars rookie Danielle Adams was named the league’s Rookie of the Month, averaging 15.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, helping lead the Silver Stars to a 7-2 record. Adams scored a career-high 32 points in a June 11 victory over the Atlanta Dream.
