WHISTLER, British Columbia — Women’s downhill training has been canceled after only two racers took to the Olympic course because of thick fog and low visibility.
Lucia Recchia of Italy was the only skier to make it down safely Thursday. The next starter — Stacey Cook of the United States — crashed after landing a jump.
Rules require that at least one training session be held before a super-combined or downhill. Two more training sessions are scheduled for Friday and Saturday before Sunday’s super-combined.
The women’s downhill is Wednesday.
