SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Tiger Woods has committed to playing next week in the Wyndham Championship, meaning he’ll keep his 2015 season going even if he doesn’t make the cut when the second round resumes Saturday at the rain-delayed PGA Championship.
Shortly after rain suspended play Friday afternoon at Whistling Straits, Woods committed to play in the regular-season finale in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he would have to finish at least second alone to make it into the FedEx Cup playoffs.
He is currently ranked 186th in the standings, and only the top 125 make it. Chances are, he won’t do anything to improve his standing this week.
Woods was tied for 89th at 4-over par with five holes left in the second round of the PGA. The current cut line was 2 over.
