We’re at the first media timeout of the game and Washington leads 16-6 and looks great, especially on defense. Quincy Pondexter, in particular, looks outstanding on both ends of the floor, defending well and playing really under control on offense. At one point, all four true freshmen were on the floor along with Justin Dentmon. Spencer Hawes came on at 17:25 to a big ovation and got his first points a minute later on two free throws. He then had a great tip pass to Pondexter on a fast break. Pepperdine, if nothing else, can run, and Washington and easily the quicker team. Quite a start for the young Huskies.
