Backup quarterback Austin Apodaca has left the Washington State football program. He will finish out the semester at WSU and then transfer to another school.
Apodaca confirmed his decision to transfer on Friday night, saying that he made the choice to transfer and informed his coaches earlier this week.
Apodaca, a redshirt freshman this past season, completed 21 of 42 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns as Connor Halliday’s primary backup. He originally was recruited by former WSU head coach Paul Wulff and became the first quarterback signed to a letter of intent by current coach Mike Leach at WSU.
