It’s 8 p.m. and I’m about done.
I came home from work Friday night with a scratchy throat, and by Sunday morning I was feeling just lousy. Not sick enough to stay in bed, not well enough to want to do anything.
The saving grace was going to be a full day of NASCAR racing: two races, 400 laps beginning in the California sunshine and ending in a beautiful West Coast twilight.
I think we all know how that plan turned out, right?
California, excuse me, Auto Club Speedway looked a lot like Western Washington today, with gray skies and occasional sun breaks. The one long run of green it looked like the Fords had something going and the top half of the Hendrick Gang had recovered nicely from Daytona.
But that was in early going, so anything could’ve happened.
And then it rained some more.
I just posted the story that the Nationwide race has been officially bumped back another day due to the rain.
And now FOX just broke into “Who’s smarter than Darrell Waltrip” or whatever its called to say, come back in an hour, and maybe we’ll be racing.
No, thanks.
At least I got to nap some. And my prediction record is perfect so far — Kyle Busch did indeed win the Truck race Saturday.
