Well that was about the ugliest half of football we’ve seen Washington play this year. The Huskies seem really lethargic, especially on offense. The offensive line is getting killed and Carl Bonnell is starting to look frustrated. One thing I’d really be worried about if I were UW coaches is if Bonnell gets gun shy and gets hesitant throwing the ball. There’s been no sign of Jake Locker warming up, but you’d have to think it’s on Tyrone Willingham’s mind. Maybe putting Locker in is what’s needed to get a spark. Washington has to start moving the ball, because frankly, ASU’s defense isn’t that good. The defensive line is really killing Washington’s offensive line though and not giving Bonnell much protection.
The defense had looked really good until the second-to-last drive when ASU ran through the defense like it was water. And the really bad news is that starting free safety Jason Wells had to be carted to the locker room with a right knee injury.
Also, Jordan White-Frisbee is not in uniform and is on the sideline with his left arm in a sling. We haven’t heard about any injuries to him so I’m not sure what his problem is.
They’re introducing the Husky Hall of Fame inductees and Jim Lambright got a huge ovation. It’s about the only thing the crowd has had to cheer about this season.
We’ll be back with some stats before the start of the second half.
