This morning WHL commissioner Ron Robison released the following statement regarding former Silvertips captain Zack Dailey’s lawsuit against the Tips over disputed scholarship funds:
“Former Silvertips captain Zack Dailey, the Everett Silvertips and the Western Hockey League announced today that the parties have reached a mutually satisfactory resolution on all matters relating to Dailey’s WHL scholarship. Zack is looking forward to continuing his studies at the University of Alberta and playing for the Golden Bears University Hockey Club.”
So it sounds like the lawsuit has been dropped. Either the league must have agreed to pay the out-of-province amount, or the school agreed to accept the in-province amount for Dailey, or some sort of compromise must have been reached.
As a first-year player Dailey appeared in 26 of Alberta’s 28 games during the regular season, tallying four goals and four assists. He played in all four of the Golden Bears’ playoff games, notching one assist.
