Week 5

Day 29 – June 24:

Description: Community BBQ and Bake Sale

Location: Mountlake Terrace Senior Center, 5605 235th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace

Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: Free

Other: Find out about the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center while you enjoy some complimentary hamburgers and hot dogs. A cake auction will start at noon.

Day 30 – June 25:

Description: Midsommarfest

Location: St. Edward State Park, 14445 Juanita Dr. NE, Kenmore

Time: 11a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost: Admission is $8 adults, free for ages 18 &under.

Other: This Skandia Folkdance Society’s 47th annual authentic Nordic celebration of the summer solstice features a folk parade, raising the Midsommar Pole, dancing, music, children’s activities, traditional handicrafts and food. Information: 206-784-7470 or www.skandia-folkdance.org

Day 31 – June 26:

Description: See a Play and Stay for a Dessert Buffet

Location: Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds.

Time: 8 p.m.

Cost: $10

Other: “The Actor’s Nightmare” by Christopher Durang will be this evening’s Alternative Stages short plays production. Because of the intimate setting of the theatre, every seat in the house provides an excellent view of the stage. Information: www.driftwoodplayers.com.

Day 32 – June 27:

Description: Teen Meet and Eat

Location: Brier Library, 23303 Brier Rd., Brier.

Time: 4-5 p.m.

Cost: Free

Other: Join your local teen librarian for pizza and talk about what your library can do for you. Also learn how this summer you can win gel bracelets, books and be entered into a grand prize drawing for and IPod shuffle.

Day 33 – June 28:

Description: Thistle Theatre will perform, “The Tiger and the Dried Persimmon.”

Location: Lynndale Park Amphitheater, 18927 72nd Ave. W., Lynnwood

Time: Starts at noon

Cost: Free

Other: This show is part of the Target Wonderstage, a performance series for kids, which occurs at noon, Wednesdays, from June 28 to Aug. 16.

Description: Making Memories With You

Location: Mill Creek Library, 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway, Mill Creek

Time: Noon

Cost: Free

Other: Make a scrapbook page as a reminder of a special memory. Learn ways to use your writing and drawing skills to create a special keepsake. Each participant should bring a favorite drawing or photocopied photograph.

Day 34 – June 29:

Description: Juggletune Circus

Location: Shoreline Library, 345 NE 175th St., Shoreline.

Time: 2 p.m.

Cost: Free

Other: Ordinary objects are juggled with extraordinary skill. Original routines, music and puppets come together for an entertaining show.

Day 35 – June 30:

Description: Take a drive to Wallace Falls

Location: Take U. S. Hwy 2 (Steven’s Pass Highway) east to Gold Bar and follow the signs to the park.

Time: 8 a.m. to dusk.

Cost: Free day parking

Other: This 4,735-acre camping park features a 265-foot waterfall, old growth coniferous forest, fast- moving rivers and streams. Cougars and peregrine falcons have also been sighted. Info: www.parks.wa.gov
