You see before you the very last edition of the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Enterprise.
The Enterprise has been a presence in the area for years. We’ve been here, watching and reporting, as the fledgling city of Shoreline grew into a vibrant community. You’ve welcomed us into your homes every week, and allowed us to share your stories with your friends and neighbors.
We wish we could find a way to stay. But in today’s economic climate and with current trends in the newspaper industry showing no signs of changing, tough decisions had to be made. As a Sept. 30 story pointed out, the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Enterprise was the odd man out – our only King County paper had “different county government, different school district and different shopping patterns” than our Snohomish County editions.
Shoreline and Lake Forest Park are thriving cities filled with active and engaging people. You deserve to have a community newspaper, and we hope that someone is able to step up and fill the gap our departure will leave behind.
