Alderwood Little League’s major girls fastpitch all-stars followed up their District 1 championship by claiming a state title last weekend.
Alderwood went undefeated at both tournaments to secure a spot in the Division 1 championships in Butte, Mont. The division champion advances to regionals.
In the state championship game, Alderwood topped District 2 champion Bainbridge Island 3-1 July 19 at South Whidbey Community Park in Langley.
After going 5-0 at the district tournament, the Alderwood all-stars opened the state tournament with wins over Walla Walla Valley, Redmond and Battle Ground.
