SULTAN — The Archbishop Murphy softball team clinched the Cascade Conference championship with a 5-3 victory over Sultan on May 5.

Freshman Brittany Allen gave up four hits and four walks and Sultan was able to capitalize on the walks with a first-inning run and again with two runs in the fourth.

The Wildcats were able to string together a couple of hits and scored three runs in the top of the second inning.

Kaitlyn Kennedy took the mound in the top of the fifth and gave up no hits and no walks to save the game for the Wildcats.

Archbishop Murphy is looking ahead to a big week against Lakewood and Cedarcrest.

“Cedarcrest is a challenge and Lakewood is not a team to overlook,” Archbishop Murphy coach Brad Johnson said.
