You’ve had your say and the results are in: Manna Mills in Mountlake Terrace has earned the August Reader’s Choice award for best grocery store.

Described by one reader as “Mountlake Terrace’s best kept secret,” loyal customer Laurel Ellison agrees. “Clean, creative, ecologically responsible management. My favorite place to shop!” “They are a store with a heart,” Cindy Bluhur says. “They have organic foods, products, competitive prices and show special care to customers and employees.”

Readers also had good things to say about Mountlake Terrace’s other grocery store, Roger’s Market. “Close and best buys; Happy people,” Carol Gilbert says. “A very clean store,” Pat Scott adds. “They have many bargains every week; produce is fresh and very polite help.” “The store is smaller than the big chain grocery stores, which is important for seniors,” says customer Betty Jepson.

Central Market in Shoreline also rates high on readers’ lists. “My favorite!” says Lynn Ronald. “Employees provide quality service to their customers. They feel like friends; They have a wide variety of fresh selections. It feels like I’m shopping at a baby Pike Place Market!”

Shoreline’s brand new Top Foods store already has a loyal following. “I am in love with the new Shoreline Top Foods,” says Jennifer Miller. “What a wonderful produce selection, the deli is fresh and I can find everything I need at the price I want to pay.” Mary Krunz agrees. “I can do so much shopping there, not only groceries but also greeting cards and garden items.”

Petosa’s in Edmonds gained high marks from readers as well. “A small store,” says Irving O’Grady, “but they treat each customer with a smile and offer help at any time.”
