Veterans, active duty military, reserves, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel can present their service ID to receive the Cabela’s employee discount on virtually everything in the store. BECU accepting nominations for People Helping People awards
Until the end of May, BECU is accepting nominations for its annual People Helping People Awards. The Awards recognize and honor BECU members and local non-profits supported by the membership in the Puget Sound area. This is the second year the awards have been given. Study highlights number of women-owned businesses
According to the fourth annual American Express OPEN State of Women-Owned Businesses Report, Washington has an estimated 175,700 women-owned firms, employing 154,200 and attributing to roughly $27.1 million in revenue. Nationally, the number of women-owned businesses has increased 68 percent since 1997. Washington is ranked 31st in growth for number of firms over the past 17 years.

State helping teens look for summer jobs
Teens are gearing up to search for summer jobs and the Washington State Department of Labor &Industries is urging employers, parents and others to support safety during Safe Jobs for Youth Month in May.
