Coming up is the community’s chance to help a four-year scholarship program, student of the month selections, and Pathways for Women and Foundation for the Arts in Mill Creek.
And all the help can be done in one night.
The Mill Creek Rotary Club’s annual charity dinner auction, this year called “Wheel goes Round and Round,” will raise funds for all those causes, and other programs supported by the club.
Among the other efforts supported by Rotary are efforts to wipe out polio and supporting a wheelchair delivery program to Guatemala.
This year’s auction and dinner is Saturday, April 2 at the Mill Creek Country Club. The organization hopes to raise $50,000.
To reach that goal, the club is looking for event sponsors. There are four different sponsorship levels, ranging from $100 to $1,000. Three of the higher sponsorship levels include event tickets.
As an added incentive, the club is building a full-scale soapbox derby car, which will be covered with the logos of Rotary and all business sponsors. The car will be displayed in the Mill Creek community prior to the auction.
In addition, the club is still seeking items to present in the silent and live auctions, all of which will go toward helping the club meet its fund-raising goal.
Individual auction tickets are on sale for $60 per person.
