Prior to my retirement from the prosecutor’s office as a legal secretary, I worked with George Appel for 12-plus years. One of my many interactions with him was to assist him with Courtrooms-to-Classrooms, a class for fifth-grade students. George and I volunteered to teach elementary school students about the courtroom and legal system. His presentation included some history, some humor and a lot of enthusiasm. His students were fascinated and looked forward to the classes.
In the years I have known him, I have found that George’s most impressive attribute is his absolute integrity. In addition, his work ethic, extensive trial experience and daily appearances in court give him a distinct advantage.
I know him to be a scholar and he is a gentleman in the truest sense of the word.
