Today is the final day to apply for the interim opening on the Mill Creek City Council.

The spot is open because of the recent passing of John “Jack” Start. State laws provide that the City Council shall fill the vacancy by interim appointment until the city’s next regularly scheduled election, which is this November. At that time, the position will be filled by general election.

Those interested in applying for the interim appointment must submit a completed application and questionnaire by 5 p.m. today, Friday, April 29 to city clerk Kelly Hennessey. The application and questionnaire is available at City Hall, 15728 Main St., or at www.cityofmillcreek.com.

Applicants must be registered voters and a resident of the city for one year. After reviewing the applications, the City Council will schedule interviews with the applicants. The City Council will most likely make the appointment in May.
