Dayton Avenue North road closure extended
The closure that was expected to end Aug. 31 between North 172nd Street and St. Luke Place North along Dayton Avenue North has been extended into September. Unexpected soil conditions have delayed construction of a retaining wall that necessitated the closure. The City of Shoreline expects to open at least one lane of Dayton for through traffic the week of Sept. 17.
The detour route is along Fremont Avenue North via North 172nd Street and Richmond Beach Road.
Drivers are encouraged to use Aurora during construction. Local access will be provided to residences but no through-traffic will be available. Pedestrian access will be provided through the site at all times during the closure. Some bus stops have been temporarily moved.
