The Lynnwood Arts Commission presents artwork by Northwest artist Eido at the Lynnwood Library Gallery now through Sept. 24.

In a show titled “An Art Show for Squares,” the singularly named Eido will exhibit a series of watercolor paintings. Eido, both a visual artist and musician, started playing bass guitar when he was 16 years old. After studying at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Calif., Eido spent some time in Japan teaching music and playing in jazz nightclubs.

While in Japan he was introduced to art by Akiko Mori and by Mariko Asada. Now painters that Eido most admires are Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Arshile Gorky, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.

Eido has previously exhibited at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His work can be viewed at www.poodlepublishing.com
