Three artists in open house show

A painter, a printmaker and a potter join forces to present an artist open house during the Edmonds Arts Festival Saturday, June 17 and Sinday, June 18.

The 4th annual event is hosted by local artist Tracy Kay Fraker at the Sierra Street Studio, located just a few blocks off Main Street in Edmonds. Fraker will be joined by Mona Fairbanks and Barbara Childs.

Fraker will feature new still life paintings in her well known pear series. She also does scratchboard art, an art form not familiar to most viewers.

Fairbanks creates monotype prints, each one of a kind. They incorporate botanical, ocean and insect images unique to the Northwest.

Barbara Childs is known for her beautiful and quality pottery. She will be presenting raku work cast from salmon and starfish.

Art will be available for purchase direct from the artists; admission to the event is free. Hours for the open house are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. June 17 and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at Sierra Street Studio, located at 9221 Sierra Street, Edmonds.
