Art enthusiasts are invited to not only admire the art display at this year’s “Arts of the Terrace,” Sept. 20-27 in Mountlake Terrace, but are urged to vote for their favorite work of art.

According to Sharron Berwick, Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission secretary, there is a Children’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards and each visitor is allowed one ballot. The winners are announced at the end of the show and receive money prizes.

“Most people enjoy voting, but some can’t choose their favorite,” Berwick said.

In addition to the Children’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards, all works are juried before being placed on display. A panel of four judges will determine this year’s winners and awards are presented at a Sponsor’s and Artist’s Reception.

The week-long event, which is co-sponsored by The Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission and Friends of the Arts, will feature four categories of artwork. These include paintings, prints and drawings, photography, 3-Dimensional art and calligraphy.

All artwork is for sale, and a percentage of the profits will go to the Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission

The show will be held at the Mountlake Terrace Library Complex, 23300 58th Ave. West. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Showing times are Monday through Thursday noon to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. For more information, call 425-774-7198 or 425-776-9173 ext. 3002.
