Brandyn Eckhart

Mountlake Terrace High School

The senior quarterback used his arm and legs to help lead the Hawks to a 35-0 victory over Shorewood in a Western Conference South Division football game Oct. 9 at Edmonds Stadium. Eckhart rushed for 104 yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns, including a 68-yard romp in the third quarter. He also completed 8 of 11 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown as Mountlake Terrace improved to 2-1 in the league and 4-2 overall.

Miah Diirell

Edmonds-Woodway High School

The freshman standout played key roles in a pair of victories in Western Conference South Division volleyball play. Diirell recorded 17 kills in a 25-18, 25-13, 23-25, 25-11 victory over Shorewood on Oct. 5 and then had 16 kills and 17 digs in a 22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-14 victory over Shorecrest Oct. 7.
