Danny McDonald

Meadowdale High School

The senior quarterback completed 20 of 24 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Mavericks to a 34-28 overtime victory over Glacier Peak in a Western Conference 3A football game Oct. 2 at Edmonds Stadium. McDonald threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Sam Thomas and a 50-yard scoring strike to Sam Werner. McDonald also ran for a 9-yard touchdown.

Dionna Kirton

King’s High School

The senior standout had 17 kills to help lead the undefeated Knights to a 25-17, 25-18, 27-25 victory over previously undefeated Archbishop Murphy in a Cascade Conference volleyball match Oct. 1 at Archbishop Murphy High School. Earlier in the week, Kirton recorded 11 kills and four aces as King’s dispatched Granite Falls 25-7, 25-23, 25-25.
