Harry and Paulette Beal of Shoreline will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 15.
The couple met in Paris, France in August 1944 during World War II, while Mr. Beal was serving in the U.S. Army. They were married Sept. 15, 1945. “We did not speak each other’s language,” said Mr. Beal, “but we fell in love.”
After returning to the U.S. in 1946, the Beals raised four children. Today they have seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
