Bernheim a refreshing change for council

Like a breeze of fresh air, Steve Bernheim will make a wonderful addition to the Edmonds City Council.

Steve, respected Edmonds attorney, is a green and progressive candidate running for the council. His record speaks for itself. Along with his neighbors, Steve prevailed in superior court, proving the city’s interpretation of the building height calculation was wrong. This court decision stopped the approval of oversized buildings in our charming downtown.

Steve has served on various citizen commissions to make recommendations to improve our transportation infrastructure and city’s role in stopping global warming. The proof of his advocacy is found at his downtown historic home, powered by electric solar panels and parked in the garage a bio-diesel Volkswagen, along aside a yellow single passenger electric car.

Most importantly, the local cabal is not supporting Steve. This group and their chosen candidates are claiming that the “building heights” issue is over and settled with the recent adoption of the downtown-zoning plan. Meanwhile, our mayor is meeting in secret with a few waterfront property owners plotting and designing 50 foot tall buildings on the ferry holding lanes, Harbor Square and Skipper’s properties. Ask the mayor about it, he won’t tell you anything. He signed a non-disclosure secrecy agreement.

Edmonds needs Steve on the council, so we can be assured that any redevelopment of the waterfront will be done in open public meetings and in keeping with the desires of the majority of Edmonds citizens, not for the benefit of just a few property owners. Please join me in voting for Steve Bernheim, Edmonds City Council position No. 6.
