Bethesda Arts & Crafts Faire shares weekend with Tour

In conjunction with Tour de Terrace, Bethesda Lutheran Church in Mountlake Terrace once again offers more opportunities for entertainment this weekend.

The congregation is hosting a free community jazz concert at 6 p.m. Friday, July 28 prior to the Tour de Terrace parade, featuring Lee Cronbach, Jeff Moliter, Judy Rasmussen, Alice Swierenga, Billie Poindexter, Dana Hensch and friends.

The 2nd Annual Arts &Crafts Faire, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 29, features a huge used book and CD sale, produce, pottery, garden art, jams and jellies, “Grandmother’s Attic,” art show, used children’s books and toys. Social service agencies such as Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer’s Association and Heifer International will be on hand. Visitors can sample soups from Bethesda’s Kitchen’s or buy a bouquet of flowers from Bethesda Gardens. Edmonds Community College Center for Families Cooperative Preschool and Mountlake Terrace Family Cooperative Preschool will provide free crafts and face painting for children.

Bethesda’s Community Art Contest also takes place during the weekend. There is no entry fee and it is open to the community at large. All ages from 3 years and above are encouraged to enter. All mediums are accepted. All “Best in Age Category” prizes will be juried and awarded by Northwest master painter William Cumming and friends. A Grand Prize will awarded to one original art work selected from among all entrants in all categories.
