The Arts-Beautification Advisory Board recommended $25,000 for artwork at Town Center at the board’s Wednesday, April 11 meeting.

The artwork, made of blue pillars and ribbons of silver steel, is designed to look like water and will line the sidewalk between Starbucks and Cold Stone Creamery.

There will also be a new three-sided shelter with a roof for the bus stop just north of Starbucks, said board chairwoman Marlene King.

Wakefield Properties, the Bellevue company that owns the Mill Creek Town Center south of 153rd Street Southeast, has agreed to spend $75,000 on the project if the city chips in $25,000.

The recommendation now goes to the Mill Creek City Council for approval.
