City employees
raise charity funds
City of Edmonds employees are partnering with United Way of Snohomish County (UWSC) to raise funds to improve the lives of families and individuals.. Last year city employees raised more than $16,000.
The city’s award-winning workplace campaign includes “Lunch with the Mayor” at Las Bnisas Restaurant. Las Brisas will donate 50 percent of the proceeds for each city employee who has lunch there on Wednesday, Oct. 29. This event brought in $200 last year. Another employee favorite is the silent auction scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30. More than 40 Edmonds merchants donated items last year, helping to raise $1,300. This year will include a live auction, with Mayor Gary Haakenson as the auctioneer.
Citizens are encouraged to participate in the city’s United Way campaign. Stop by the reception desk at City Hall and guess the number of candy in the jar. The winner will receive the jar of candy. Citizens can also make a direct monetary donation to United Way through the City of Edmonds.
