E-W graduate places second

Edmonds-Woodway graduate Kristin Hepler, now at Western Oregon, captured second place in the weight throw at the NCAA Division II National Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on March 13.

Hepler’s toss of 58-21/2 feet sent her to the runner-up platform, landing her All-American honors. That distance smashed her own school record of 55-5, set this year.

“It was an amazing effort by Kristin,” said throws coach Brian Caster. “She really stepped up and responded to the competition with her best throw ever.”
