ATM hires new coaches

Archbishop Murphy High School has named Brad Johnson as its varsity fastpitch softball coach. Johnson has most recently served as the junior varsity coach and the varsity assistant for the Everett High School fastpitch program.

During his five years at Everett High, he helped the Seagulls reach the district and state playoffs.

Johnson will be assisted by Margaret Ames, an Archbishop Murphy High School faculty member. Ames has an extensive background in fastpitch softball including playing professionally.

Mavs guard chooses SPU

Meadowdale point guard Ashley Fenimore made a verbal commitment to play at Seattle Pacific University, according to Meadowdale coach Karen Blair.

Fenimore, who started for Meadowdale’s 3A state-championship team last year along with current SPU freshman forward Quinn Brewe, also considered Oregon State, Gonzaga, Nevada-Reno, Eastern Washington and UC Riverside. She holds Meadowdale records for assists in a game, a season and a career.
