Baseball tryouts
The U15 Baseball Club is conducting tryouts for the 2005 season at 2 p.m. Sept. 11 at Meadowdale Middle School in Lynnwood. Fall tryouts will be held at the same time with practices on Saturdays and doubleheaders on Sundays. For more information call 425-418-2768.
Smith scores golf victory
Dan Smith of the Lynnwood Golf Course took first place in the professional net division (age 45-55) in the Western Washington Chapter PGA Senior Pro-Am series last month at the Linden Golf and Country Club.
District teams playing today
The four Edmonds District football teams will be in action today (Friday, Sept. 10) at Edmonds Stadium. In the opener, Edmonds-Woodway takes on Lynnwood at 5 p.m. The Warriors are coming off a 37-0 victory over Mountlake Terrace, while Lynnwood lost 33-0 to Mariner. The nightcap features Meadowdale and Mountlake Terrace at 8 p.m. The Mavericks dropped a 11-7 game to Kamiak.
