Locals move on to state

Several area golfers qualified for the Washington Junior Golf Association’s state championship, which will be July 28-30 at the Everett Golf and Country Club.

Advancing to state were Edmonds’ Andrew Gihm (boys 16-17 division), Edmonds’ Jonathan Keane (boys 16-17), Lynnwood’s Francis Santiago (boys 14-15), Mill Creek’s Ryan Young (boys 14-15), Mill Creek’s Sean Fitzpatrick (boys 14-15), Edmonds’ James Demopoulos (boys 8-11), Mountlake Terrace’s Daniel Nelson (boys 8-11) and Lynn-wood’s Kimberly Santiago (girls 8-11).

Camps set for late July

The City of Lynnwood Parks Department is offering a soccer camp July 26-30. The program is for players ages 6-14. Sessions are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $102. For more information, call 425-771-4030.

A Grand Slam baseball camp for players ages 7-12 is scheduled for July 26-30 at Lynnwood High School. The cost is $99. For more information, call 360-802-2232.
