Walker wins triathlon

Lisa Walker of Edmonds took first place at the 15th annual Danskin Women’s Triathlon Series Aug. 15 in Seattle.

Walker, 43, completed the course in 1 hour, 15 minutes, 57 seconds. Walker was fifth in swimming, 11th in biking and fourth in the running portion of the event.

The triathlon consisted of a half-mile swim, a 12-mile bicycle ride and a 3.1 mile run.

12U squad captures title

The Brooklyn Baseball Club’s 12U team won the 14th annual Tournament of Champions Aug. 15 in Kamloops, Canada. Brooklyn went 6-0, allowing only five runs in 36 innings. The team was the only United States club invited to participate. Brookyn defeated Comox 5-0 in the championship game. Zach Olsby and Karl Rodriquez scattered five hits and Jake Hanley hit a home run.

Register for fall softball

Registration for Lynnwood’s fall adult softball leagues is underway. Men’s, women’s and coed divisions are offered. The team fee is $420. For more information, call 425-771-4030.
