Council honors Judge Eadie
Shoreline resident Judge Richard Eadie was awarded a plaque at the Feb. 9 City Council meeting to recognize his community contributions.
Eadie has sworn-in newly elected Council members since the city incorporated, and is now serving his second term as Presiding Judge of the King County Superior Court. He was recently elected as President of the National Conference of Metropolitan Courts.
A longtime resident, Eadie graduated from Ballard High School, attended the University of Washington and is a United States Navy veteran. Other accomplishments include being appointed to the Board of Trustees of the King County Library System, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Shoreline Historical Museum.
Wastemobile this weekend
Residents can bring their household wastes to a three-day event 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 13-15 at the Aurora Square Sears, 15711 Aurora Ave. N.
The service, called the Hazardous Wastemobile, collects 24 million pounds of household hazardous waste and recycles or reuses 98 percent of collected waste.
Accepted items include pesticides, chlorine bleach, paint products and automotive products, such as oil, antifreeze and auto batteries. There is no charge for collection.

Shoreline seeks Planning members
Shoreline is accepting applications through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 from those interested in serving on the Shoreline Planning Commission.
Applicants must be Shoreline residents or property owners and should have an interest in environmental affairs, planning, land use and residential and commercial development.
The Planning Commission has nine members. Commissioners are appointed by the City Council for four-year terms and meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
