Seminar addresses rehabilitation

The Donaldson Clinic is having its second mental health presentation series led by staff member, Chuck Wright, a licensed mental health counselor and family therapist.

The next presentation is called, “The Stress of Rehabilitation and How It Relates to Your Loved Ones.” It takes place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Mill Creek location, 16030 Bothell-Everett Highway; Suite 200.

There is no fee to attend, but to reserve a space call 425-745-4910.

Clean state audit for water district

The Mill Creek-based Silver Lake Water District recently received a clean audit from the state Auditor’s Office.

The district, which operates water and sewer services for approximately 12,000 customers in and around Mill Creek, is audited every two years.

Donuts and hot chocolate at park

The Canyon Creek Community Church youth group and staff will be visiting the skate area at Mill Creek Sports Park today, Friday, Feb. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. distributing Krispy Kreme doughnuts and hot chocolate.

Input sought on Town Center buses

Community Transit buses will operate through Mill Creek Town Center beginning this fall. How existing bus routes should change to accomplish this is the subject of a public outreach effort now underway.

Community Transit is considering changing portions routes 105, 106, 114, 115 and 116 to serve Town Center. Service on the lower portion of Mill Creek Boulevard, near The Mill apartments, may be eliminated.

Two open house meetings about the changes are scheduled for Mill Creek:

• 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, March 22, City Hall Council Chambers, 15728 Mill Creek Blvd.

• 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, North Creek Presbyterian, 621 164th St. SE, classroom C-76 (park and enter at back).

CPR/first aid class is offered Tueday

The Greater Mill Creek Senior Program is offering a free CPR/first aid program.

The two-hour long class will teach lifesaving skills to deal with sudden collapse and choking, and participants can earn certification.

The class is from 10 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the Washington State University Cooperative Extension’s Evergreen Room at McCollum Park.

Donations needed for Rescue Pup

Rescue Pup, a Mill Creek-based non-profit organization that finds homes for stray sick and injured dogs, regularly needs donations to cover veterinary expenses.

Donations can be made at Pet Pleasers, a non-profit pet supply store the organization operates. Pet Pleasers is located next to Claire’s Pantry at the corner of 9th Avenue SE and 164th Street SE.

DARE chocolate shield fund raiser

Mill Creek police are selling police department chocolate shields for $2 to benefit the DARE program.

The shields were made from a mold that was designed with the Mill Creek water wheel and the words “Mill Creek Police.”
