Shoreline Council approves contract
The Shoreline City Council approved a contract Monday, Jan. 26 with Kirsten Betty &Associates (KBA) for construction management services for North City Business District improvements, in the amount of almost $400,000.
These improvements are a part of the North City Project, which is included in the city’s 2003 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget. Improvements to the North City Business District (NCBD) include placing power and telecommunication utilities underground, along with stormwater drainage, gas, sewer and water lines.
The services KBA will provide include construction inspection and coordination with contractors, reporting of contractor staff, equipment, material installation, tracking of construction material quantities and coordination with city staff and the community.
Fire department receives donation
On Jan. 22, the Bothell and Shoreline fire departments received a $4,000 donation from the GreenAcres Mobile Home Park in Bothell.
Since the 1970s, the park’s Coffee Club has raised funds each year to support fire and emergency medical services and King County Medic One programs for basic and advanced life support services. Fundraisers include selling raffle tickets for homemade quilts and other linens. More than $125,000 has been donated to fire and emergency medical service programs in the area.
The Coffee Club gave $2,000 to Bothell’s basic life support program and $2,000 to Shoreline’s Medic One advanced life support program. The funds are used to supplement taxpayer dollars that pay for emergency medical services in Bothell, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park and Shoreline.
