City looking for board applicants
The city of Edmonds seeks candidates for a Board of Appeals for the purpose of hearing appeals of the building official on decisions or interpretations made on the state-adopted building code.
The board’s basic function is considering the use of alternate materials or methods of construction that are different than those specified in the building code. The board would have no authority to interpret administrative provisions of the code and may not waive specific code requirements.
Members should be in the construction industry and familiar with multiple types of construction. Qualified candidates will be interviewed by the mayor for selection. Successful candidates will be appointed by the mayor with City Council confirmation. The first order of business of the board will be to establish its own rules, regulations, procedures and by-laws.
For information or an application call the Mayor’s Office at 425-771-0247 for an application. The deadline will remain open until filled.
