BRIER — Bob Colinas, mayor of Brier, was injured Feb. 15 while pruning a tree in his yard. He sustained four fractures of the pelvis and a crushed right knee.

Fire District 1 responded and Colinas was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Colinas said a branch he was cutting with a chain saw broke free and struck him.

During his convalescence he is performing his duties as mayor and is expected to attend the March 23 council meeting.

“It’s surprising how fast the body heals,” Colinas said.
