An interrupted burglary in Bothell recently led police to several arrests and a motel room filled with stolen goods.

About 9 a.m. March 19, a 24-year-old woman was alone at a house along 219th Place SW when she heard someone breaking in, Bothell police Capt. Denise Langford said.

The woman tried to hide in a closet, but the intruder saw her and ran out of the house, Langford said. The woman was not injured.

The investigation led police to Edmonds, where they arrested a Bothell man, 27, on Wednesday. They also went to an Edmonds-area motel along Highway 99, where they arrested a Mountlake Terrace woman, 28, and two other people.

Detectives believe items found in the motel room were stolen during burglaries, car prowls and mail thefts throughout the region, Langford said.

Edmonds police arrest two burglary suspects

An alert neighbor helped Edmonds police capture two suspected burglars on March 28.

The neighbor called 911 about 11 a.m. after seeing suspicious activity at a home in the 23900 block of 104th Avenue W., Edmonds police Sgt. Mike Blackburn said.

The neighbor told police they saw two people in dark clothing knock on the front door of a home while the residents were away, Blackburn said. The people then disappeared, and the neighbor heard loud banging noises before seeing the people carrying items into a nearby car.

The witness was able to give police part of the car’s license plate.

Edmonds police soon spotted the vehicle, pulled it over and arrested a Seattle man and Renton woman inside, Blackburn said.

The two were arrested for investigation of burglary.
