Cocoon House sets graduation ceremony

Cocoon House will hold its 13th annual Butterfly Graduation at 2 p.m. June 13 as part of its annual fund campaign. Admission is free.

Special guests include Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick and musician-raconteur Gerry Andal. Youth speakers will be featured and a request for donations in support of Cocoon House will be made, followed by a reception with cake, coffee and punch.

SnoCope Federal Credit Union staff and members raised more than $1,400 for the Butterfly Graduation. To raise these funds, SnoCope staff procured items from local business and put together a raffle the week of May 17 in the lobby of their Everett office. The staff also paid for dress-down days and accepted cash donations from the community.

The Butterfly Graduation is a community event that celebrates the accomplishments of Cocoon House youth, who are often unable to participate in traditional springtime graduation ceremonies. The ceremony also recognizes an outstanding Cocoon house staff member with the Wilma Betts Spirit Award.

The ceremony will be held in the Snohomish County PUD Auditorium, 2320 California St., Everett.
