Greater Lake Stevens Chamber to host Dino Rossi — Oct. 8
Dino Rossi will address Lake Stevens business and community members at the next Greater Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce luncheon, to be held at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 8 at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center, 12309 22nd St. NE, in downtown Lake Stevens. Rossi is the president of the Forward Washington Foundation. He also was the Republican gubernatorial candidate in Washington’s 2004 election, and prior to that he served from 1997 to 2003 as a state senator. The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce continues its edu@s2c3 Seminar series with “Look at the facts not at the faces?” from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Oct. 23 at the Best Western Alderwood, 19332 36th Ave. W., in Lynnwood. The seminar focuses on the presence of undocumented workers who have secured jobs by fraudulent means, including presentation of false documents, completion of fraudulent benefit applications and theft of identities. To combat unlawful employment and reduce vulnerabilities that help illegal aliens gain such employment, the Department of Homeland Security recently introduced the ICE Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers (IMAGE) program. The goal is to assist employers in targeted sectors to develop a more secure and stable work force and to enhance fraudulent-document awareness through education and training.
