Around the County

All Aboard Arts, a part of USA Arts of Washington, is seeking volunteers for their art classes from 2-4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, at Martha Lake Community Club in Lynnwood. These classes include people with disabilities. Volunteers assist in guiding and directing students in the many facets of art. Info: 425-513-1401.

DARE chocolate shields — Mill Creek police are selling police department chocolate shields for $2 to benefit the DARE program. The shields were made from a mold that was designed with the Mill Creek water wheel and the words “Mill Creek Police.” The shields can be purchased at the police department, 15728 Mill Creek Blvd.

Edmonds Community College Foundation, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood, works with the college to provide educational opportunities for students living on tight budgets, including offering emergency scholarships and subsidies for rent or utility bills, textbooks or child care. Rescue Pup, a Mill Creek-based non-profit organization that finds homes for stray sick and injured dogs, regularly needs donations to cover veterinary expenses. Donations can be made at Pet Pleasers, a non-profit pet supply store the organization operates. Pet Pleasers is located next to Claire’s Pantry at the corner of 9th Avenue SE and 164th Street SE.
