A man was arrested early Sunday, Aug. 28, after he drove his girlfriend and co-worker’s car through the Q-Cuts salon where they both worked, according to police.

The business was closed and unoccupied and no one suffered serious injuries. Damage to the property is estimated at $30,000.

A Lynnwood officer patrolling the Alderwood mall area at about 3 a.m. Sunday saw a car driving southbound on Alderwood Mall Parkway that had major damage to the front end and broken glass all over the windshield.

While contacting the driver, the officer had other officers search the area for possible damaged property.

Officers quickly located the business at 18505 Alderwood Mall Parkway that had recently sustained serious damage.

The driver was initially arrested for DUI and eventually booked for malicious mischief in the first degree, a felony, after it was determined that the driver had used his vehicle to intentionally damage the business.
