Cascade Conference announces spring teams

Archbishop Murphy senior Tyler Kane was named the Cascade Conference’s Baseball Player of the Year. Kane helped lead the Wildcats to a third-place finish at the Class 2A state tournament.

Kane was joined on the first team by teammates Kevin Waldron (senior pitcher), Chris Peterson (senior catcher), Jake Hines (senior infielder), Jacob Oster (senior infielder), Keanen Albright (senior outfielder), Jon Varriano (senior outfielder) and Connor Huesers (junior utility).

Archbishop Murphy junior Amber Manuel earned co-Defensive Softball MVP recognition along with Granite Falls’ Alyssa Arndt. Earning first-team honors was Archbishop Murphy’s Marea Homes (sophomore).

In boys soccer, Archbishop Murphy senior goalkeeper Doug Ehlebracht was named Defensive Player of the Year. Named to the first team were teammates Erik Schmidt (senior forward), Sean Ryan (junior midfielder) and Matt Leen (senior defender).
