Math books recommended
The Shoreline School District’s Instructional Materials Committee has recommended the Prentice Hall series of math books for high school Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra 2.
The district’s 37-member Mathematics Achievement Team selected the books at its May 26 meeting over the Discovering and Holt books.
Twenty-eight teachers were involved in the evaluation process and 69 percent surveyed favored Prentice Hall. Parents, students and community members were also involved in the evaluation process.
The school board is expected to adopt the books for high school math at its June 22 meeting. The materials will be available in the district’s Instruction Department at Shoreline Center.
