Charges filed in string of robberies

Shoreline resident Jesse Guy Bailey was arraigned Monday, April 5 in King County Superior Court in connection with a series of local gas station robberies.

Bailey, 26, pleaded not guilty to first-degree assault and three counts of robbery. He is being held at King County jail with a bail of $500,000.

A case setting hearing is scheduled for April 19. According to Dan Donahoe, press secretary for the prosecutor’s office, a trial date may be set at that time.

The first-degree assault charge is in connection with a March 13 shootout with a police detective in the 20000 block of 15th Ave. NE., as well as three gas station robberies.

If convicted as charged, Bailey faces 33 1/2 years to 38 years in prison, which includes firearm enhancements. Five years is added for each count of a firearm.
