State Rep. Maralyn Chase, D-Shoreline, from the 32nd District, and Rep. John Lovick, D-Mill Creek, representing the 44th District, were among the 45 state legislators who didn’t miss a single roll-call vote on bills and amendments during the 2007 legislative session.
A missed-votes score card for every senator and representative is compiled by WashingtonVotes.org and released at the end of the annual session.
In most cases absences occur because of illness or uncontrollable circumstances, according to the Web site. “But if legislators begin to show a consistent pattern of missing votes, citizens have a right to ask why,” said WashingtonVotes.org director Michael Ennis.
The organization reports that 2,592 bills and 2,106 amendments were introduced in the 2007 session.
