‘Christmas Treasures’ in Lynnwood

Vocal group Choral Arts presents “Christmas Treasures,” a program of holiday music favorites, Dec. 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood.

A concert of familiar carols and intriguing new settings, from ancient carols to contemporary, are sung with Choral Arts’ signature sound. Settings are in English, French, Norwegian and Swedish, bringing a wide variety of joyful Christmas music to the audience, who will also have an opportunity to participate. The group is joined by organist Paul Tegels, Professor of Organ at Pacific Lutheran University.

Founded in 1993 by artistic director Richard Sparks, Choral Arts has presented its season concerts in both Seattle and Tacoma, and has collaborated with other arts organizations, including the Seattle International Music Festival, Mark Morris Dance Company, Northwest Sinfonietta, and the Seattle Symphony. Their recordings are best sellers on the Loft/Gothic label.

Choral Arts performs at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 6215 196th St. SW in Lynnwood.
